Kyra Minton Sedgwick is a native of New York. She is an American actor. Her name is known all over the world and especially in America for her lead role in the TV series 'The Closer'. Sedgwick has been interested in performing, art and Broadway ever since she was 12. Her introduction to Broadway by her mother, she was interested in it. Sedgwick had her first professional acting part at age 16 when she appeared on "Another World," the TV series. The first TV roles she had were not big, however she was much more attracted to becoming an established actress. In the film "Born during the 4th of July", in which Tom Cruise also starred, Sedgwick was noticed for the first-time in a large screen. The success of Sedgwick in the film resulted in her being cast in other movies such as 'Heart and Souls, "Phenomenon," and so on. The actor husband of her Kevin Bacon met her in the television film "Lemon Sky.' They married at 22. Sedgwick established herself on American television by her flawless performing. The Closer, which ran for seven seasons, was awarded many awards including Emmy, Golden Globe and Emmy.
